What We Do
Creature Comforts provides in-your-home pet sitting and dog walking services. Hiring a pet sitter allows your pet to stay within the familiar environment of his/her own home while you are away. It can be difficult (and sometimes guilt-inducing!) to find a friend or family member to pet sit, as they have busy schedules, too. Whether you're going on that much needed vacation, or you need someone to walk your dog during the day when you're working long hours, Creature Comforts can help. Your pet will get the love and attention he/she needs while you are away, and you'll have the peace of mind of knowing that your pet (and your home) are safe, secure, and cared for. Overnight StaysVisit begins between 7PM and 8PM, and concludes the following morning between 7AM and 8AM. (Evening and morning 15-30 minute dog walks, if applicable, are included in price.) $60 per night.Pet TaxiVisits to/from groomer, vet, airport, etc. Rate begins at $10, and increases depending on the distance traveled. Pet Photography Let's face it. Pets are cute. Some of them are hyper, some of them are sweethearts, some of them are clowns, some super smart, some quirky -- but no matter what personality your pet has, there has undoubtedly been that moment when you thought to yourself: "If only I had my camera!" At Creature Comforts we set out to capture the moments you cherish. How long have you been "in the business" as a pet sitter and dog walker?Since April, 2007.What type of animals do you care for?Primarily cats and dogs, but we've been known to take on hamsters, goldfish and birds as well! Are you bonded, insured and liscensed?We are bonded and insured. As of 2011, there is no formal liscensing for pet sitters.Do you make exceptions and cover zipcodes outside your set service areas?Occasionally, but there will be an extra charge per visit.Do you offer boarding?No.Do you walk dogs from more than one household at the same time?Typically no. I will make an exception if I've been given permission by the owner(s), if the dogs already know each other, or if I know the dogs well enough to know that they will get along. What got Creature Comforts started? A love of animals! I founded Creature Comforts in April of 2007, and I have enjoyed every minute of it. I have owned pets all my life -- dogs, cats, hamsters, even a rooster! I currently live with three crazy cats and a lab-mix adopted from the SPCA.Do you bring your own dog with you during visits or on overnights?My dog usually tags along on dog park visits -- otherwise no. I only bring her with me on an overnight if I've been given permission to do so. Do you ever keep a client's key on file? Is there an extra charge?Yes, I keep keys on file. No extra charge.How much advance notice do you need?Initial visits are the most important, because we need to make sure that everyone is happy with the match. At least a week before your scheduled trip is preferrable. Once we've established a relationship, a few days notice is usually enough. Exceptions are to be expected during the holidays.
